It was within the agro-forestry committee that the idea of a local forestry network was born, focused on regional economy and sustainable development. Only a few years ago, in 2017, we witnessed the beginnings of this network, in small discussion groups on the second floor of the Town Hall in Frelighsburg. There, forest owners, wood users, and forest workers came together to eventually create what is today the Réseau Foresterie Frelighsburg et régions.

festi’bois – 2021 (second edition)
The Festi’Bois is an initiative of the Réseau, and is part of an approach to bring woodworkers closer to local resources. Its mission is to showcase our forests, those who take care of them, and the artisans who transform wood.
This second edition of Festi’Bois offers:
- numerous exhibitors’ booths / woodworkers (cabinetmaker, sculptor, carpenter, turner, luthiers, etc.)
- conferences (themes to come)
- demonstration workshops (titles to come)
- a visit to the arboretum at the local school
coopérative bois d’exception – 2020
In November 2020, the newly founded Coopérative bois d’exception released its business plan. It specializes in the production of custom, non-standard lumber guaranteed by an eco-responsible label.
Focused on local marketing, its trademark is based on an offer of high quality wood, produced locally, respecting the forest environment, transformed according to the customer’s wishes and at competitive prices.
air dryer for wood – 2019
The Réseau de Foresterie’s air dryer for wood was construted in the summer of 2019. Located on Chemin Garagona, wood is collected from 10 different tree species. In addition to promoting a local economy, this collective storage limits the transport of wood.
